For many types of queries, search engines show vertical results, or instant answers (which Google collectively refers to as onebox results), and include more than just links to other sites to help answer a user’s questions. These types of results present many additional challenges and opportunities for the SEO practitioner.

If the user is interested in the first image shown, he may well click on it to see the painting in a larger size or to get more information about it. 

For the SEO practitioner, getting placed in this onebox result could be a significant win.
